When wearing breeches with Court Evening Dress I follow advice I had from a previous Mr Speaker and wear tights over cycle lycra or ( in winter ) ski tights.
This may sound poor practice but the effect is sufficiently opaque as heavy black silk men’s hose are now so hard to get.
